Television show America's Got Talent got rocked when 82-year-old contestant John Hetlinger took to the stage to perform a cover of "Bodies" by heavy metal band Drowning Pool.

Before his audition began, Hetlinger, of Broomfield, Colo., who had worked previously on the Hubble telescope as an aerospace engineer and was a navy pilot before he retired, told judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Mel B. that appearing on the show would be "the high point of my life and my many careers."

Hetlinger then proceeded to totally own the stage with with the refrain "Let the bodies hit the floor! Let the bodies hit the floor!" shocking the judges and the audience in attendance. Heitlinger received enough support from judges to advance to the next round.

Drowning Pool quickly caught wind of Hetlinger's performance, posting "Shout out to the 82 year old dude that sang 'Bodies' on America's Got Talent. You are welcome to join us on stage anytime!!!" on their Facebook page.

The Dallas, Texas-based band's "Bodies" was the lead single form its 2001 debut album, Sinner.
