Say hi to your host Pete Morey who is counting down every song that made it to number one during 2015, which means 30 songs that were all certified hits. Even though all 30 made it to number one, some songs stayed for longer than others, some stayed for just a week and some seemed like they’d never give up their grip on the top. We've crunched the numbers on those 30 chart toppers and ranked them according to your votes, sales, spins on the radio and the amount of time they spent at number one. So who has the number one song out of all the number ones of the past year? It is time to countdown the best of the best!

The Top 5 number 1 songs of 2015 on the #R220:

5. Alabama Shakes, "Don't Wanna Fight" #1 for 2 weeks starting March 13th.

A lot was expected of the second Alabama Shakes record, it was long in the making! Their album Sound and Color blew everyone away and their lead-off single was a monster “Don’t Wanna Fight” was at number one for two weeks in March.

4. Fortunate Ones, "Lay Me Down" #1 for 2 weeks starting August 14th.

The Newfoundland duo Fortunate Ones proved to be an unstoppable two-some in 2015. They had two number ones songs on the top 20 and had a lot of dedicated fans on the rock and right across the country behind them. Their song “Lay Me Down” stayed at the top for two weeks in the middle of the summer.

3. Yukon Blonde, "Saturday Night" #1 for 3 weeks starting April 24th.

Yukon Blonde came back in 2015 with a new sound and a new member, a keyboard player. By adding keys to their sound Yukon Blonde went from hard rocking west coast folkies to synth powered stadium filling 80’s rock gods. Their new sound shot this song to the top for three weeks in a row. Their song “Saturday Night” was a great update on “Working For The Weekend”!

2. Modest Mouse, "Lampshades On Fire" #1 for 4 weeks starting January 30th.

This next song might surprise you. Modest Mouse made it to number one at the end of January and stayed there for the month with this slice of bizarre baroque pop “Lampshades on Fire”.

1. Adele, "Hello" #1 for 4 weeks starting November 6th.

The Queen of 2015, Adele spent the month of November at the top with her song “Hello”, she debuted at number one, a first in this chart's history!
