Happy new year to you and yours! The first chart of 2015 has the Decemberists cracking the top five, Charlie Winston re-entering the chart and Amelia Curran closer to the top 10.

Amelia Curran has been busy promoting her new album, They Promised Us Mercy, while also promoting a very important campaign. The Newfoundland singer put together a powerful video not only to support people with mental illness, but to acknowledge the stigma around it. And also to just encourage us all to support each other. Watch it (and get some tissues).

The Decemberists wished their fans a happy new year by getting their singer, Colin Meloy, to demonstrate the fine art of sabrage. Sabrage is the act of removing the top of a bottle of champagne with a sabre. Don’t be fooled, he had no idea what he was doing, and multiple attempts and some help from YouTube made for this pretty funny video.

Now you've probably heard of bands surprising fans at concerts, but what about the other way around? Yes, fans surprising an artist at their own show!

In December, a 20-person choir showed up at a Hozier show in Paris and watched from the front. When he sang the hit "Take Me to Church," they belted out powerful harmonies. He was definitely surprised! It also ended up being one of the most beautiful renditions of the track. Check it out.

A new Hozier track tops the chart this week: "From Eden" is in at number one!
