Sam Smith takes the number 1 spot

Sam Smith sings like a man at ease, and why wouldn't he? His debut album, In the Lonely Hour, is the fastest-selling debut album in the U.K. He's only been on our chart for two weeks, yet he just did the unthinkable: bumping Coldplay out of the top spot with his tune "Stay with Me."

Here's Sam Smith circa 2013 teaming up with Naughty Boy, the tune is "La La La." Let's dance.

'80s nostalgia from Dominique Fricot

Entering the Radio 2 Top 20 chart is the sweet-voiced Dominique Fricot. From The Cosby Show to MacGyver, he'll make you long for that lovely lost decade. The song is "I Miss the '80s."

Here's the mild-mannered singer performing the song live at a Christmas telethon — yup, he's just that kind of guy.

The return of Miss Hynde

She exhibits a type of cool that just doesn't exist any longer. Chrissie Hynde has just released her first solo album, and it's proof that after all these years she hasn't lost any of her rock 'n' roll swagger.

Sam Roberts Band and their studio take-over

Before the release of their latest album, Sam Roberts and the boys dropped by the studio for a listening session. Their R2-20 tune "Metal Skin" was a standout on their setlist. They enter the chart in the 18th spot.
