"We're double sixing it, night cause tonight, we're doing it to death."
— the Kills

The Strombo Show ran the gamut this Sunday night, keeping the spirit of radio alive by delivering the best records in the best order. It's a show for music lovers by music lovers, ranging over three hours of commercial-free music to honour both old and new.

With their fifth slab of sound, Ash and Ice, the Kills have returned with another masterwork. Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince crafted a chugging, trans-Siberian train of noise, born from the chaos of a rented house in Los Angeles, Electric Lady Studios and a broken hand. Through all of it, they found a way to double-six it and brought their show to the House of Strombo for another intimate, sweaty session in George's living room.

They performed new songs and favourites, and took a moment to chat, delve into the inner workings of their studio process and discuss the relevance of Lee Scratch Perry.

Chloe Charles is a Canadian-born singer-songwriter, splitting her time between Berlin and Queen West while defying genre restrictions. Her self-produced sound strings together R&B, jazz and folk with orchestral pop and has earned her much love throughout European clubs and festivals. Returning home, she shares her story with George and performs several songs that include the first she wrote and a passionate rendition of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U."

Also, we premiered some new tunage from Tennessee's six-piece garage outfit, Diarrhea Planet and another from the psychedelic meeting of the minds within the Claypool Lennon Delirium.

You know what to do: Lock it. Crank it! Join the collective.
