Driving around the Canadian Prairies in freezing temperatures, Lunice, Ango and 247esp couldn’t help but create something that moves them. The two-step-inspired rhythms the three artists produce as the group Nouveau Palais reflect the restlessness and creativity that often results from lengthy tours.

In The Junction, a new animated video series from the Red Bull Music Academy, filmmaker Malcolm Sutherland captures the curious synchronicity that connects the Montreal trio, winding along rural northern roads seemingly without friction. Watch it below.

The Red Bull Music Academy was launched in 1998, and each year features a workshop for selected participants, culminating in live events and festivals. This year RBMA touches down in Montreal from Sept. 24 to Oct. 28, including a show featuring Lunice and Ango on Oct. 15. Visit their website for more information.
