Blue Rodeo has announced they will be releasing their new album 1000 Arms at the end of the month.
The 12-track album was co-produced by Tim Vesely, a founding member of the Rheostatics who noticed that lead singer Jim Cuddy and longtime member Greg Keelor were not singing in harmony as much as they had done so in the past on Blue Rodeo's most recent recordings.
“We made a very concerted effort to sing together on this album, either with direct harmonies or call and response, and we really enjoyed that,” Cuddy said in a statement.
1000 Arms is the group's 15th album and will be released on Oct. 28. In addition to the imminent release of the album, the group has announced a number of tour dates across Canada in 2017 beginning Jan. 11 in Thunder Bay, Ont., wrapping up in Moncton, N.B. on Feb. 26.
Ahead of 1000 Arms' release the group has released a new single entitled "Superstar."
The video for the song, which features the band poking fun at modern-day celebrity, was directed by Chris Mills.
