July Talk got together in 2012 with the band's self-titled debut album, won a Juno for alternative album of the year and has been gigging hard ever since.
Four years later, the group's back with its sophomore record, Touch, exploring feelings of loneliness and disconnection sparked by being away from loved ones while on tour. Recorded live off the floor, this album is July Talk at its most vulnerable and raw. Lead singers Peter Dreimanis and Leah Fay give you everything they have as their voices battle it out, crescendoing to a cathartic release.
Watch July Talk play tracks from the band's new LP and share the backstory on the evolution of the band, the Genesis-inspired track and the first time the members have ever really felt vulnerable on this episode of CBC Music's Backstage Pass.
Catch this episode on CBC Television this Sunday, October 30th at 4 P.M. (4:30 NL).
