The Seams, Diana, Tanya Tagaq: Radio 3's top 30 songs for the week of November 21, 2016

Our favourite new discovery of the week goes to the Seams from Toronto and their new song "Seeds." The indie supergroup is made up of members of Elsa, WISH, Fake Palms and US Girls and channels elements of the Paisley Underground with English jangle-pop sensibilities, resulting in a sound that is very hard to resist.

 

Other songs debuting on the chart this week include a couple of veterans on the Canadian indie scene: Montreal psych-garage rockers Chocolat with "Ah Ouin," and Sam Roberts Band with "Ritual Dance." The honour of highest debut this week goes to Diana, with the song "Confession" from their brand-new album Familiar Touch.

 

Up at the top, Tanya Tagaq takes over in the number one spot with her remarkable song "Centre," featuring Shad. It's one of our favourite tracks of the year, and comes with a eye-catching video made by Chad Vangaalen:
