Here is the 2017 Polaris Music Prize long list
Holly Gordon

June 13, 2017

Since 2006, the Polaris Music Prize has provided a platform to showcase some of the best Canadian albums released each year based solely on artistic merit, without consideration for record sales or musical genre.

Today at the NAC in Ottawa, 40 albums were nominated to the 2017 long list. Get the full list below.

Plus! This afternoon, you can tune in to Radio 2 Drive with guest host Emma Godmere to catch a first listen of some of the long list nominees, beginning at 3 p.m. (3:30 NT). The morning of June 14, host Raina Douris will present a full hour of highlights on Radio 2 Morning, starting at 8 a.m. (8:30 NT). And you can catch all CBC Music Polaris Prize coverage at

The 10-album short list will be announced live via CBC Music's Facebook page on July 13, while the winner will be announced at the Polaris Prize gala on Sept. 18 — to be live-streamed right here on CBC Music.
