You might remember Ivory Hours from the 2015 edition of our Searchlight competition, where the alt-rockers from London, Ont., made it all the way to the final four.
The band quickly followed up that successful run by releasing its debut album, Morning Light. Later that year, the members also won both the Edge’s Next Big Thing contest and Canada’s Walk of Fame Emerging Artist Music Mentorship Program. Since then, Ivory Hours, led by singer-songwriter Luke Roes, relocated to Toronto to ready their sophomore release, Dreamworld.
The album sees the band further developing the pop-rock sound of its first album, adding heavier guitars and synths. The title track, which kicks off the album, is catchy and anthemic, and perfectly sets the tone for the rest of the release, which is a driving, intense listen.
Dreamworld will be released on June 10. Pre-order the album here.
