Radio 2 Top 20, July 10th: Birthday boy Beck takes the top spot

Pete Morey

This week, there are five new entries on the chart. The Franklin Electric makes the highest leap we've ever seen on the chart, rising 12 spots to #1. In a new addition to the chart, Elliot Maginot's "Still Alive" sits at #20.

Also new on the chart at #10 is Scarlett Jane with "Little Secret."

Your number-one artist this week is a legend, and the only man Kayne West has ever apologised to. Beck Hansen has made every kind of music you can imagine, from slacker-rock to rump-shakin’ funk. On top of this, his 2014 record Morning Phase won a Grammy. This year, Beck returns with a new sound on his single called "Dreams." This cut rose six spots this week to take the chart's top position. It's the summer anthem of 2015, and conveniently, it was also Beck’s 45th birthday this past week. Happy birthday, Beck! Keep mixing it up.
