Colin Linden wears more hats than you’d find at a Royal wedding, and we're not just talking about the trademark big black hat he wears on and offstage. He’s a singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer who has played on more than 300 albums and produced 60. He has also had a prolific solo career and plays a key role in Canada’s roots-rock supergroup, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings. He lives in Nashville these days, working both on and off camera in the popular TV country music drama Nashville.
Linden started early. He got hired for his first professional gig when he was 15. After that, he just kept going — acoustic, electric, slide or finger-picking guitar; playing gospel, blues, or Americana; versatility is Linden’s middle name.
He has collaborated with Bruce Cockburn, Emmy Lou Harris, Willie P. Bennett, Colin James, Lennie Gallant, various members of the Band, T-Bone Burnett, Bob Dylan and many others.
Not surprisingly many of those names appear on Linden's playlist along with Howlin' Wolf, Maria Muldaur, Charlie Christian, The Original Sloth Band and more.
