The Radio 2 Top 20: Sam Roberts Band tops the chart

Editorial Staff

Arcade Fire had your number one song last week and they could have still been on top this week if not for these pesky fellow Montrealers. The mighty Sam Roberts Band came in rocking and were determined to get top spot, managing to wrestle it away from the most talked about band of the week.

Here is your new number one, “We’re All in this Together,” as featured on CBC-TV for opening night of the NHL hockey season.

Teenage jazz sensation Nikki Yanofsky is branching out. She just released a beautifully lush cover of “People Are Strange” by the Doors. Yep, 19 is about the age when you discover '60s psychedelic rock. Here’s hoping Yanofsky might be up to releasing a swing rendition of “Incense and Peppermint.”

Her own track "Something New" is number 10 this week.
