Strombo’s Valentine's Day Special with Kiefer Sutherland

Editorial Staff
The Strombo Show, February 14, 2016

Listen to the February 14, 2016, episode of the Strombo Show.

The Strombo Show runs the gamut this Sunday night, keeping the spirit of radio alive by delivering the best records in the best order. It's a show for music lovers, ranging over three hours of commercial-free music to honour both old and new.

George Stroumboulopoulos welcomes Kiefer Sutherland for an intimate conversation to celebrate his latest film project Forsaken and spin choice records from his collection.

Kiefer Sutherland once said, "If the acting thing hadn't worked out for me, I'd be laying phone cable in northern Ontario." Instead, he's kept busy as a renegade counter-terrorist agent, an extortionist sniper and a lost boy throughout his 30-year film career. For the first time, he'll be sharing the screen with his father, legendary actor Donald Sutherland. It's an old-fashioned western that embraces the genre's archetypes, instead of reinvention. Kiefer is also an avid singer-guitarist and music fan, performing in ZZ Lightfoot and creating an independent record label, Ironworks. He explored the film, family and musical projects in conversation with George, the day after a standing ovation at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Also, George has the exclusive song premieres of new tracks from Hamilton hard-rockers Monster Truck and one of Canada's best kept secrets, Donovan Woods.

We celebrated love and togetherness with Valentine's Day musical vibes that range eras, genres and featured requests from you.
