George Stroumboulopoulos' weekly radio program has featured many various sessions from his home over the past few years, but there's been nothing quite like this week's episode. He opened his doors to an exclusive and explosive set from one of the most hyped acts, Jazz Cartier.
The House of Strombo packed with various family and friends of the program that included The Elwins, Tanika Charles, Juice, Bishop Brigante, Kalle Mattson, the Airplane Boys, Los Poetas, Ria Mae and the hip-hop legend himself, Maestro Fresh Wes.
Cartier has branded himself as Toronto's prince of hip-hop. His work ethic and theatrical production have earned him critical praise since his Polaris-nominated debut, Marauding in Paradise. After the surprise release of Hotel Paranoia this past week, we celebrated in the House of Strombo with friends that included Canadian hip-hop royalty like Maestro Fresh Wes. Cartier joined George for a conversation, performed several cuts off his sophomore album and exclusively debuted a new track, "Cut the Cheque."
If you missed Sunday night's episode with Jazz Cartier and Stevie Van Zandt, keep it locked and cranked below.
