A new reissue package commemorating the 40th anniversary of The Last Waltz concert film is set to be released in November.
The package will be based on the all-star 1976 Thanksgiving Day concert in San Francisco, Calif., that featured the Band members Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel and Robbie Robertson being joined on stage by the likes of Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Ronnie Hawkins, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young, among many others. The Last Waltz was the film made from that concert and was directed by Martin Scorcese.
The reissue will be available in various regular and deluxe CD, Blu-Ray and vinyl formats on Nov. 11. A limited collector's edition to be issued on Dec. 9 will feature Scorsese’s original shooting script for the film.
The 40th-anniversary edition of The Last Waltz is being released by Rhino Records.
