Swamp Thing, Hannah Georgas, Sam Roberts Band: Radio 3's top 30 songs for the week of January 2, 2017

Editorial Staff

Happy New Year everyone! We're going to start off 2017 with a bang by featuring some new music from Toronto's Swamp Thing, a group comprised of rappers Timbuktu, Chokeules, and Savilion. Their album Pray to Science features sonic explorations of the spooky and unknown. Watch the video for "Wild Things," which is our highest debut at #24.

Hannah Geogas had a great year in 2016 with the release of her critically acclaimed album For Evelyn, which was a tribute to her grandmother. This album marked a big leap forward for the Vancouver singer-songwriter in terms of sound and production, which she talked about with host Louise Burns on our podcast in August. "Evelyn" is the second song from that album to land on our top 30 chart.

Sam Roberts Band makes the hop from #2 to #1 this week with "Ritual Dance" from their latest release TerraForm, and in doing so becomes our first chart-topping song of 2017.
