Hollerado, Broken Social Scene and Mozart's Sister: Radio 3's top 30 songs for the week of April 24, 2017

Editorial Staff

Hollerado just put out a new released called Born Yesterday, and one of the most compelling and memorable songs on the album is "Don't Shake." The track was written by guitarist Nixon Boyd after his diagnosis of testicular cancer. According to the band, the song is his way of asking people in his life to stay positive, even if they had to pretend.

Broken Social Scene recently performed "Halfway Home," their first new song in seven years, on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and if that lineup was any indication, the collective is back in full force. Band members present in this performance include Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning, Justin Peroff, Andrew Whiteman, Charles Spearin, Sam Goldberg, Ariel Engel, Emily Haines, Jimmy Shaw, Amy Millan, Even Cranely, David French and Dave Hodge. "Halfway Home" is our highest debut this week at #22.

Frederick also debuts on the chart this week with "Watching You" at #28.

Caila Thompson-Hannant has been a key player in many beloved Canadian indie bands over the years, including Shapes & Sizes, Miracle Fortress and Think About Life. Her current project is called Mozart's Sister, and the song "Eternally Girl" climbs all the way to #1 this week.
