Oh Susanna, Cold Specks, Land of Talk: Radio 3's top 30 songs for the week of July 17, 2017

Editorial Staff

Singer-songwriter Oh Susanna ventured into pop-rock territory on her new album, A Girl In Teen City. The songs chroncile her life growing up as a teenager in Vancouver, B.C. "Tickets On the Weekend" in particular will make you feel nostalgic for those long-lost days of youth, when going to see your favourite band was everything. It debuts at #28 on our chart this week.

Somali-Canadian singer-songwriter Ladan Hussein, a.k.a. Cold Specks, is set to release an eagerly anticipated follow up to her Polaris Music Prize nominated album Neuroplasticity later this year. The first single "Wild Card" is a tribute to her mother's selfless support of a new refugee and it debuts at #19.

Other debuts this week include Ashleigh Ball with "Crazy," Peter Peter with "Damien," and New Pornographers with "Colosseums."

Speaking of long-awaited releases, Land of Talk climbs to the #1 spot this week with "This Time," the second single from the Life After Youth.
