Listen to Montréal symphonique, the outdoor show that drew 80,000 people

Robert Rowat

On Aug. 19, at the foot of Mount Royal, a massive chorus and orchestra comprising musicians from l'Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, the McGill Symphony Orchestra and l'Orchestre Métropolitain joined forces with pop and classical soloists and conductor/arranger Simon Leclerc to put on a grandiose, free outdoor show.

Dubbed Montréal symphonique, the concert was part of the ongoing celebrations of Montreal's 375th anniversary, attracting more than 80,000 spectators onsite, with thousands more watching simulcasts in parks across the city.
