Victoria's Peach Pyramid debuts at #28 the chart this week with the song "Repeating Myself." The band's recently released album of the same name is the first release from Oscar Street Records, a new indie label set up by the New Pornographers' Kathryn Calder.

"Mind Hijacker's Curse" is the opening track from Chad VanGaalen's excellent new album Light Information, and it's the highest debut this week at #23. The multi-talented artist also recently released a 25-minute psychedelic animated film called Tarboz, which you can watch here.

Other debuts this week include "Wishing Well" from Taylor Knox and "Out Of This World 2" from Liam Corcoran (of the much-missed east coast band Two Hours Traffic).

Toronto songwriter Laura Hermiston originally started Twist as a solo project, releasing her debut LP Spectral last year. She eventually started working with collaborators, including Brian Borcherdt of Holy F**k, becoming a full time band and releasing an EP called Benefits earlier this year. The title track from that release climbs to #1 on our chart this week.
