Editorial Staff

Toronto hard-rock trio Metz released its third full-length album Strange Peace in September, and the song "Drained Lake" edges on to our top 30 this week at #28. Strange Peace was produced by Steve Albini, and reveals a more nuanced version of the band's sound.

We premiered Iskwé's brand new album The Fight Within, a couple of weeks ago via First Play, and her powerful single "Soldier" is the highest debut on our chart at #22.

Other debuts this week include Caveboy with "Raconteur." Bonjay with "Ingenue," and Belle Game with "High."

One of the most notable collaborations from the past year was that of Winnipeg indie rock band Royal Canoe with Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist and singer Little Scream Their song "Painted For Us" is pleasingly slinky and smooth, and represnts a daring and unique effort for both parties.
