Dear Rouge, Gord Downie, Iskwé: Radio 3's top 30 songs for the week of Dec. 4, 2017

Editorial Staff

Danielle and Drew McTaggart make up the Juno Award-winning duo Dear Rouge, and the single "Boys & Blondes" debuts on our chart this week at #26. Earlier this fall, they explained to Canadian Beats that it is a "fun upbeat song about relationships with a cheeky undertone of feminism where women hold the cards.”

CBC Music writer Andrea Warner wrote a powerful review of Gord Downie's final album, Introduce Yerself. In it, she calls the song "Love Over Money," a song Downie wrote for his Tragically Hip bandmates, "a tender tribute to chosen family." It is the highest debut on our chart this week at #22.

Other new songs on the chart this week include "Better To My Baby" from Whitney Rose, "Mutations" from Grand Analog and "These Three Things" from Ought.

This past October, Cree/Dene and Irish artist Iskwé released The Fight Within, an album full of dark, pulsating anthems for the dancefloor. The album's lead single "Solder" climbs to #1 on our chart.
