Suuns return with new single, ‘Watch You, Watch Me’: listen

Melody Lau

Montreal band Suuns are back. Just two years after their Polaris Music Prize longlisted album, Hold/Still, the band will return with their fourth full-length, Felt, on March 2. Today, they’ve released the record’s lead single, “Watch You, Watch Me.” You can watch the music video below.

The track is a sonic flurry of synths and computerized vocals by singer Ben Shemie, all revved up by the rush of drums by Liam O’Neill. Suuns recorded the new album by themselves at Montreal’s Breakglass Studios, which was later mixed by producer John Congleton (who produced their last album). According to a press release, Felt sheds the darkness that dominated their previous albums in favour of a more “optimistic ambience.” O’Neill adds: “Us doing it ourselves, that process was like a very receptive, limitless workshop to just try out ideas.”
