Watch Shania Twain go head to head with Meghan Trainor in surprisingly friendly rap battle

Melody Lau

Shania Twain is one of Canada's biggest country stars, but can she rap?

It's a question that gets answered on the latest episode of Drop the Mic, a spin-off of a popular segment on The Late Late Show With James Corden. In the clip below, Twain goes head to head with pop star Meghan Trainor. Taking turns, each artist exchanges disses until one comes out victorious.

Trainor takes a few easy jabs, making some Canadian jokes and calling Twain irrelevant, and Twain swiftly responds by saying, "You'll never have a career as long as me." But, as the battle went on, the insults turned to compliments and the two end with a friendly hug.

Watch the full battle below and see which star co-hosts Method Man and Hailey Baldwin chose as the winner.

Last year, Twain released her fifth studio album, Now, her first in 15 years. In addition to that, she is currently serving as a mentor on the new singing competition show, The Launch.
