"Hello, Canada. It's hour 6 of being stranded on Highway 1 between Canmore and Calgary," begins trumpeter Jens Lindemann in this remarkable video shot during "Snowtober," the record-breaking snowstorm that hit parts of Alberta on Oct. 2.
Lindemann, who grew up in Edmonton, is a Grammy-nominated soloist, past member of the Canadian Brass, and professor of trumpet at UCLA in Los Angeles.
"I hope we get out of here," he adds and then whips out his trumpet and plays some impressive fanfare flourishes before launching into a rendition of "O Canada" to the delight of the stranded motorists, who honk their approval. Watch below:
