Rae Spoon, Metric, Thus Owls: Radio 3's top 30 songs for the week of Oct. 29, 2018

Editorial Staff

Rae Spoon's latest single "Bioluminescent" debuts at #27 on the top 30 chart this week. The song is from their latest album Bodiesofwater, which came out on Sept. 7 via Spoon's own label, Coax Records.

Spoon said via press release that they wrote the song after experiencing a tsunami warning in Victoria, B.C. “Everyone was talking about it everywhere I went and it struck me as similar to being on tour. Driving vast distances in Canada musicians have to contend with a lot of risk like living in a tsunami zone. The song is about making peace with that."

Metric have the highest debut on the chart, leaping all the way up to #17 with the second single "Dressed To Suppress" off of its latest album Art of Doubt.

Other debuts this week include Graham Van Pelt with "Release Yourself," Marie Davidson with "So Right" and Toyko Police Club with "Simple Dude."

After six weeks on the chart, Thus Owls take over the top spot with "Future/Past."
