Robert Rowat

The Golden Violin Competition is held every year at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University to recognize excellence among the string players enrolled full-time there.

Four students have been selected to perform in the competition's final for a chance to win the $25,000 first prize:

  • Justin Almazan, violist (Vancouver)
  • Elie Boissinot, cellist (Montreal)
  • Alicia Choi, violinist (New York City)
  • Elizabeth Skinner, violinist (Victoria)

Each will perform a 30-minute program of their choice for a jury comprising Schulich School of Music professors and two invited guests.

Tune in Sunday, Oct. 28, at 2:30 p.m. ET to watch them perform. The winner will be announced at the end of the webcast:
