Quiet Parade, Echlo, Dilly Dally: Radio 3's top 30 songs for the week of Nov. 12, 2018

Editorial Staff

Halifax indie rockers Quiet Parade return with "Thunder," their first new single in three years, and it edges on to the chart this week at #29.

Toronto artist Chloe Charles, A.K.A. Echlo, makes her first ever debut on the Radio 3 top 30 in the highest position this week with her single "Head High" which checks in at #23. According to a press statement, Charles says the song is about battling against societal expectations of life and love, and what it means to be 'normal.'

"I went to university, got my degree, fell in love, got married, had a monogamous relationship, lived together, had 2 cats, but it never felt right," she says. "I felt trapped and suffocated by these inhumane, unhealthy structures and concepts. I am saddened by our system that brainwashes people into believing education, material objects, beauty, money, marriage and a pension will fulfill them. This song is about the constant struggle to protect myself from a society that tells me I am not good enough."

"The Door" from Keegan Powell also debuts at #26.

Toronto rockers Dilly Dally climb to the top of the chart for the second time this year with the song "Believe." Watch them perform it during a CBC Music First Play Live session below.
