The Backstreet Boys are having a great year so far. They recently scored their first number 1 album in almost 20 years with their latest record, DNA. And this week, they reunited with a Canadian icon at their Las Vegas residency.
While performing their 2000 hit single "Shape of my Heart" at Planet Hollywood's Zappos Theatre, they spotted and pulled country star Shania Twain onstage. (Twain attended one of their Vegas performances last year as well but didn't go up and join them.) Delighted, Twain sang along and the performance ended with member A.J. McLean bending down on one knee and presenting a rose to her.
The last time the Backstreet Boys and Twain shared a stage was 20 years ago, during Twain's CBS Winter Break special in Miami, Fla., where they performed a rendition of "From This Moment On." Back then, Twain praised the boy band, telling the crowd, "Every night, before I go onstage, I rock my bus with their music, as loud as I possibly can [...] Their music really gets me pumped!" Watch that 1999 performance below.
